There was definitely still more fun to be had after the 4th of July celebration...
There were more adventures on Opa's boat. Specifically, the one in which we kind of, sort of, maybe decided to take Lexi and the girls (who were very casually just bopping around on the Big Mable) on an actual tube ride. For those of you who know Lexi, she isn't all that into stuff like this. And, by not all that into stuff like this, I mean, she nearly has a panic attack. But, off we went!
Clearly the girls weren't all that thrilled either. Unfortunately for them, being too cautious hurt them in the long run, as the slower you go, the more the tube tips into the water in the front. So, we decided it was my turn to show everyone how this works. After all, I did grow up tubing every weekend of every summer at Sara's cottage.
And, then this....
So, all was good in the world again.
Then, we had the Wilke's come for a visit to help celebrate William's big 4-0! Annabel was given the job of organizing the shoes. Yes - those are in order by age. As if you had to guess.
The Holland kids? They were put in charge of organizing the cooler. :)
We built a fire for the occasion...
All of the grand kids!
THEN! It was Annabel's birthday!
Uncle William decorated the cake this year. I have to say...he may have a future career here!
In between the birthdays, we had...
Real Snakes...
Deer watching...
The annual pool game where we probably do more laughing than playing pool...
Corn hole tossing (which happened to be in the yard of the restaurant that we were eating at...brilliant)
Firework setting...
Egg gathering...
Sparkler lighting...
Fishing (for the first time!!!)
And, generally? Just hanging out and having fun!
